About
Harmony's Film Festival "Harmony in Motion" exists to encourage students to become creators, showcase their talent and expose them to the integration of storytelling and innovation.

We have one Junior Short Film category for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, three categories for the Varsity (high school) students, and one category each for STEM Project Videos (grades 7-12), College Entrance Videos, Short Film Screenplays (scripts) and Teacher/Staff-made videos.

One top award and 2 runners-up will be given in each category. The awards are being collected, and will be announced as we get closer to the deadlines!

Categories
​
Junior Short Film
Harmony students in grades K through 8th grades may submit a short film project that is between 1 minute and 8 minutes long. Projects can be documentary or narrative (scripted).
Varsity Short Documentary
Harmony students in grades 9-12 may submit a documentary or journalism video that is between 1 minute and 8 minutes long. This must tell a story about something in real life (not fictional).

Varsity Scripted Short Film
Harmony students in grades 9-12 may submit a narrative (scripted) short film that is between 1 minute and 8 minutes long. This type relies more heavily on a script, various angles of the same scene and should be planned out (more so than documentary shots and interviews).

Varsity Cell Phone/Tablet Short Film
Harmony students in grades 9-12 may submit a narrative (scripted) short film OR a documentary short video that is between 1 minute and 8 minutes long and PRIMARILY USES CELL PHONE or TABLET FOOTAGE.

STEM Project Video
Harmony students in grades 7-12 may submit a documentary-style video that is between 1 minute and 4 minutes long about a STEM or PBL project.
​
College Entrance Video Essay
Harmony students in grades 11-12 and college freshman alumni may submit a college admission essay video up to 10 minutes.

Short Film Screenplay Contest
Harmony students in grades 6-12 may submit an original screenplay for a short film, up to 15 pages long (although shorter is better!).

Teacher/Staff Short Film
Harmony Teachers and Staff may submit a short film project that is between 1 minute and 8 minutes long. Projects can be documentary or narrative (scripted).

Tell Your Harmony Story
Harmony students in grades K-12 may submit a short film that is up to 4 minutes long. This must tell a story about how Harmony has positively impacted you and your family.
